Where Are They Now?

In August 2013, we launched the Innovation Academy. It was only made possible because fifteen students chose to trust this new program and give it a try. Since then, the IA has served 185 students, and here you can see what some of those alumni are up to. We will be updating this page regularly, so if you are an alumnus, don't hesitate to send us your photo and blurb. This is where you belong.

GISELLA SILVA

(CLASS OF 2015)

"The IA taught me to question, to live with purpose and to iterate through life."

Gisella was part of the first IA cohort who took the program in eleventh and twelfth grade. She went on to study at the University of Florida. She is now looking into pursuing a career in education.

TAESAM LEE

(CLASS OF 2016)

"The IA has taught me that there's nothing more powerful in life than being your genuine self."

Taesam pursued the IA in eleventh and twelfth grade. He went on to study at the Rhode Island School of Design and is currently a product designer at Pangea.app.

KARINA VESTERGAARD

(CLASS OF 2020)

"The IA has taught me to challenge myself and those around me."

Karina joined the IA for her tenth-grade year. She is currently studying to become a veterinarian at the University of Florida.

GONZALO VIDAURRAZAGA

(CLASS OF 2015)

"The best memory I have of the IA is us opening up and being extremely sincere during feedback sessions."

Gonzalo was part of the first IA cohort who took the program in eleventh and twelfth grade. He went on to study at UTEC in Lima, Peru.

ANTONIA MUFARECH

(CLASS OF 2019)

"The IA has taught me the importance of storytelling and vulnerability."

Anto was part of the IA between tenth and twelfth grade. She is currently studying journalism at Northwestern University.

JENNIFER DRYDEN

(CLASS OF 2020)

"The best memory of the IA is being so excited to go school."

Jennifer did the IA in tenth grade. She is studying at the University of Waterloo. She's excited about doing an internship at Google this summer.

NICOLAS KORCH

(CLASS OF 2019)

"The best memory I have of the IA is feeling like work is not work."

Nicolas pursued the IA in tenth grade and he's currently taking a gap year in Denmark.

MARIA FE MONTOYA

(CLASS OF 2020)

“The best memory I have is coming to class to work with my cohort that was like a second family to me.”

Mafe was in the IA between tenth and twelfth grade. She's currently studying Marketing at the University of Miami.

SERGIO PIAGGIO

"My favorite project in the IA was making the documentary"

Sergio pursued the IA in eleventh and twelfth grade. He went on to study at the American University in DC and is currently a working as a seafood trader.
